6th June Declared a Holiday in Ghana – Interior Minister. 
Interior Minister Mubarak Mohammed Muntaka has announced a national holiday in Ghana for Friday, June 6, 2025.
This is in line with the national celebration of Eid al-Adha, which falls on June 6, 2025.
In a press statement, the Interior Minister stated emphatically that;
The general public is hereby informed that Friday, 6th June 2025, marks Eid-Ul-Adha, which is a Statutory Public Holiday and should be observed as such throughout the country.

The festival of Sacrifice (Eid al-Adha) is one of the most important events on the Islamic calendar. It commemorates the unshakable faith of the Prophet Ibrahim, who was all ready to sacrifice his son, Ishmael, in obedience to Allah’s command.
The festival takes place at the end of Hajj, the annual pilgrimage to Mecca, which is one of the five pillars of Islam.
