Four Police Officers Promoted For Diligence and Professionalism.

Sergeant Festus Gameli Kukuia, Corporal Christian Asare, Corporal Nicholas Kingsley Constable Amoah, and Adam Yakubu have been promoted to the ranks of Inspector, Sergeant, and Lance Corporal, respectively, by the Ghana Police Service.

These officers received promotions for showing diligence and professionalism. The Inspector General of Police, Mr. Christian Tetteh Yohuno, and members of the Police Management Board (POMAB) commended the officers, saying, “Their promotion will serve as motivation and encouragement to other personnel of the Service.”

In his remark, the IGP highlighted that “dedication to duty and exceptional performance will be both acknowledged and rewarded.”

Reason For Their Promotion?

The aforementioned police officers received a promotion in rank by the Ghana Police Service for their involvement in arresting suspects Hakeem Imoro, Imoro Tahiru, and Nurideen Wahab for unlawful possession of arms and ammunition at Bawdie Barrier, near Wassa Akropong in the Western Region on April 30, 2025.

The suspects were on board a Grand Bird Bus with the registration number AS 4431 22, which was heading to Wassa Akropong when the officers intercepted and searched the bus to retrieve a submachine gun (SMG) and twenty-one rounds of ammunition from suspect Hakeem Imoro.

Thorough interrogations led to the suspect Hakeem Imoro revealing that the firearm was given to him by his boss, who is known as Forson, who was later identified as Samuel Atsu Forson, aka Alanyo.

Extensive investigations have brought to light that the three suspects, Hakeem Imoro, Imoro Tahiru, and Nurideen Wahab, were directly linked to the Asiyaw murder case, which involves the murder of five individuals in Asiyaw near Nsawam on April 29, 2025.

The suspects were apprehended when they attempted to flee the jurisdiction by the vigilant officers from the Western Central Regional Command.

For this reason, the Ghana Police Service commends the officers for their outstanding work and reiterates its commitment to rewarding excellence and dedication in the fight against crime.
