China Gifts Chad a 30,000-Capacity Stadium.
President Mahamat Idriss Deby Itno inaugurated the 30,000-seat Olympic stadium in Chad’s capital, N’Djamena, on Friday, May 23, 2025.
The newly constructed stadium is named the Marshal Idriss Deby Itno Olympic Stadium and was praised by the president as a result of active cooperation between Chad and China.
According to China’s ambassador to Chad, Wang Xining, the stadium remains a symbol of the enduring friendship between the two countries and also as an expression of hope that would help Chad shine on the international level so far sports is concerned.
“We are convinced that Chad will have a promising future. China intends to move forward hand in hand with Chad and strengthen our win-win cooperation with the international community to help Chad realize its dream and together build a brighter future,” said the diplomat.
The Marshal Idriss Deby Itno Olympic Stadium is the biggest of its kind in the country. It was constructed from start to finish by Shaanxi Construction Engineering Group Corporation Limited and was officially handed over to the Chadian government on May 12, 2025.
